What’s your role at Nuna and what do you do?

I’m joining the Product team, focusing first on our Care Improvement product pillar. We are going to be best-in-class at helping payers and providers understand what’s happening with their population. By making it easy to see important insights, we’ll help them quickly hone in on strategies to improve quality, increase access and reduce cost. Beyond our current product suite, there’s a ton of opportunity for us to expand and I’m excited to work on that product roadmap, vision and strategy.

What drew you to join Nuna’s team?

I want to work on high impact problems with a world class team. Value Based Care is one of the few transformative and realistic ideas anyone’s had to improve healthcare in the US. I’m here for it. I’m psyched to bring my ten years of experience in healthcare, program evaluation, and public health to craft an awesome product that helps get people access to high quality affordable care. Getting it to really work won’t be easy, but will be a gamechanger. It’s going to take a top tier team that’s motivated by that goal. Nunas are that team.

What has been the most exciting project you’ve worked on in the past?

When I was living in Vietnam in (2008–10), I started a motor-bike emergency first responder program that became part of the Vietnamese Red Cross. I am a Wilderness First Responder and have been an ambulance corps volunteer in the past. Those skills were really applicable, because emergency medicine was nascent and there were some unique challenges like…you can’t fit an ambulance down most small Hanoi streets!

What is one career lesson you’ve learned that you would like to share?

It always comes back to the people.

Is there a project you’re working on outside of work? (building, painting, decorating etc.)

I am writing a book with one of my best friends…very slowly, since we each write 250 words a week. It’s a kind of whodunnit related to an old secret within a family of ranchers in Wyoming — so if you know anything about ranching or Wyoming, I’d love to use you for background research!
